Job summary

Bloxwich Academy Primary invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant on a fixed-term basis until 18 December 2026. The role is 21 hours across 3 days per week, term-time only, with start date ASAP.

You will work under the instruction of the classroom teacher and leadership to provide support to pupils, ensuring safety and access to learning activities. The ideal candidate will have Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualifications, strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to undertake

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils in a primary setting.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualifications.
• Adequate literacy and numeracy levels.
• Flexible to undertake routine tasks outside of class.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils under supervision of teacher and leadership.
• Ensure safety and access to learning activities for pupils.
• Assist with general classroom and learning support duties.

21 Hours | Term Time Only | 3 days a week

Start Date: ASAP

Starting actual salary from: £12,766.51 (FTE £26,151) to £13,403.11 (FTE £27,455)

Salary ranges dependent on level of relevant qualification held

The Role:

A fixed term position has arisen for an eager Learning Support Assistant to join Bloxwich Academy Primary until Christmas for 3 days per week.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands‑on experience working with children in a primary school environment, develop their skills and learn from an experienced and supportive team.

As part of this role, you will be working under the instruction of the classroom teacher and leadership to provide appropriate support to pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this role must be passionate and willing to support pupils no matter what they need to ensure there are no barriers to learning.

Key personal qualities and skills will include:

• Having excellent inter-personal skills with both children and adults;
• Knowledge and skills surrounding supporting children’s learning for example Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualifications;
• An adequate level of literacy and numeracy qualifications;
• A flexible approach to work and be prepared to undertake routine tasks outside of the classroom.
