E-ACT West Walsall Academy in the UK is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored academic and emotional support for pupils. You will work closely with teachers to help students with additional needs thrive in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities include implementing learning activities, supervising pupils, supporting wellbeing, and assisting with education/behaviour plans under supervision. 37 hours weekly, fixed-term and permanent posts available.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent.
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting a child in a school setting and the relevant age range.
  • Knowledge of strategies for spelling, reading and number skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
