Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant in Berwick-upon-Tweed to support pupils with SEMH needs within a secondary school.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help pupils engage with lessons and access the support they need, and build positive relationships with students and staff throughout the day.

The role is long-term with ASAP start and offers competitive PAYE pay, dedicated consultant support 24/7, CPD courses, and a referral scheme.

Qualifications

• SEMH experience required
• Experience with secondary-aged pupils
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Berwick-upon-Tweed that supports pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH. The school is looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with SEMH needs on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them engage with learning and access the support they need within the secondary school environment.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs


• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils


• Confidence providing 1:1 and small group support


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills


• A patient, resilient and positive approach


• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
