Job summary

Robins Way School near Amesbury is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 7–11 with SEMH needs. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group tailored learning, promoting confidence and independence in a nurturing environment.

You will work under safeguarding policies to help pupils access learning, develop communication, and build resilience, while collaborating with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or learning needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote welfare, safety and wellbeing of pupils.
• Provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support tailored to learning needs.
• Work in line with school policies and standards.
• Support day-to-day organisation and smooth classroom running.
• Take responsibility for agreed areas of work, reviewed annually.
• Contribute to the school's development and improvement journey.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

At Robins Way School, we're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and help young people overcome barriers, build confidence and discover their potential. This is so much more than a support role. You'll become a trusted mentor, positive role model and champion for pupils who need someone to believe in them, encourage them and celebrate every step forward. Working closely with pupils who need personalised support, you'll provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help them access learning, develop communication skills, build resilience and grow in independence. Most importantly, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where every pupil feels valued, understood and able to succeed. Our pupils may present with:

• Speech and sound disorders
• Expressive language difficulties
• Delayed understanding of language
• Concentration challenges
• Work avoidance behaviours

Key Responsibilities

• Work in line with professional standards, statutory requirements and school policies
