Job summary

City of Glasgow College is seeking a Learning Support and Development Advisor to assess students’ needs, arrange interventions and monitor outcomes to boost student success.

You will work with a forward-thinking Student Experience Directorate to deliver inclusive services, provide mentoring, demonstrate assistive technologies, and run skills development workshops across City and Riverside Campuses.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with experience of working with people with a disability or additional support need.
  • Experience of developing and delivering inclusive services.
  • Ability to coach and mentor to create a supportive environment.
  • Experience of working in an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students’ additional support needs and arrange support interventions.
  • Monitor impact and outcomes to help ensure student success.
  • Facilitate pre-entry activities and deliver mentoring and support.
  • Demonstrate assistive technologies and deliver skills workshops and one-to-one support.

Salary: Grade 6 £42,219 - £45,338 per annum (Pro Rata)
Location: City and/or Riverside Campuses

Wearelookingfor adynamicandforward-thinkingindividualtojointheStudent Experience Directorate. As a Learning Support and Development Advisor you will assess students’ additional support needs, arrange support interventions and monitor impact and outcomes to help ensure student success.

You will work in partnership to develop and deliver inclusive services to students with a disabilityoradditionalsupportneed.Aspartofaninnovativeteam,youwillfacilitatepre- entry activities, offer students a responsive mentoring service, you will demonstrate assistive technologies, deliver skills development workshops and one to one support and work as a team to ensure a positive student experience.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and have experience of working with peoplewithadisabilityoradditionalsupportneed. Youwillhaveexperienceofdeveloping anddelivering inclusive services,be highly motivated anditis importantthatyouhave the ability to create a supportive environment through coaching and mentoring.

Experienceofworkingwithinaneducationalsettingis desirable.
