Job summary

The Blackpool Sixth Form College is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support and Inclusion team. You will support students with SEND, complex medical needs, or additional learning requirements to help them access college life and achieve independence.

  • providing in-class and out-of-class support to an identified cohort of students with SEND and complex medical needs.
  • helping students develop independent learning skills, positive behaviours, and self-esteem.
  • assisting students with specific physical, personal care, or medical needs following appropriate training and risk assessments.
  • monitoring student progress and liaising with teaching, pastoral staff, and parents/carers to support academic success.
  • maintaining accurate digital support records and adapting class materials using college systems.
  • providing examination invigilation and access arrangement support.
  • accompanying students on college-organised trips and work experience placements.
  • participating in first aid duty team responsibilities and safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

At Blackpool Sixth, we specialise in 16-19 education and pride ourselves on being a first-class college where students thrive. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support and Inclusion department. Working as part of a cross-college team, you will support students with disabilities, learning needs, or medical requirements to operate as independently as possible and fully contribute to college life.

This is a fixed term position for the 26/27 academic year.

A day in your new role could see you:
