Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in Havering is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our FE settings across Havering. You will provide high-quality support to students with a range of additional needs, including ASC, dyslexia, and SEMH, in a calm, patient and empathetic manner.

The roles offer up to £17.00 per hour (Umbrella), 30+ hours per week during term time, with ongoing consultant support and potential for long-term or permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as LSA in secondary or FE setting.
• Experience supporting students with SEND/SEMH.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain DBS.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to students with a range of additional needs.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning.
• Assist with personal care as needed and support student wellbeing.

Learning Support Assistants Required - Havering

Location: Havering

Pay: Up to £17.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Hours: 30+ hours per week, term time only

We are currently recruiting experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work in a Further Education (FE) settings across Havering.

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals who can provide high-quality support to students with a range of additional needs.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• General academic support within Secondary Schools or Further Education (FE).
• Supporting students with Autism (ASC), Dyslexia, and Dysphasia.
• Providing personal care, including feeding and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Working with young people experiencing anxiety, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, and associated challenging behaviours.
• Delivering one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning and achieve their potential.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant within a Secondary or Further Education setting
• Experience supporting young people with SEND and/or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
