Job summary

Westholme School is seeking a Learning Resource Assistant to help create a welcoming library where pupils read, research and learn independently, while providing responsive ICT support to staff and pupils.

You will assist with cataloguing, loans, and stock checks; run information-literacy sessions; support displays and author visits; and help pupils access digital resources in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a library or learning-resource role is desirable.
• Familiarity with library-management systems, online databases or digital resources would be an advantage.
• Experience delivering research or information-literacy sessions to pupils is desirable.
• Flexibility to support occasional evening events and activity outside contracted hours.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming learning environment and help pupils read, study and learn independently.
• Catalogue and process new materials; manage loans, returns and overdue reminders; register users and maintain records.
• Support displays, Book Clubs, author visits and other reading-promoting activities.
• Provide practical ICT support: password resets, software downloads, and basic hardware problems.
