Job summary

Westholme School is seeking a Learning Resource Assistant to help run a welcoming library and provide practical ICT support to pupils and colleagues. You will help pupils become independent learners, support research projects, and ensure resources are easy to find and well catalogued.

You will work with staff across the school, assist with displays and events, manage loans and inventory, and contribute to a positive reading culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in a library or learning-resource role is desirable.
• Familiarity with library-management systems, online databases or digital resources would be an advantage.
• Experience delivering research or information-literacy sessions to pupils is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create an inviting learning environment for pupils to read, study and work independently.
• Help pupils access physical and digital resources; catalogue and process new materials; manage loans and recalls.
• Lead research-skills sessions in partnership with teaching staff.
• Liaise with academic departments on stock, reading lists and recommendations.
• Provide practical ICT support for password resets, software, devices and printing.
• Support the help-desk system and troubleshoot routine ICT issues.
• Maintain ICT inventory and assist with equipment-cleaning audits.
• Supervise the Learning Resource Centre until 6.00pm on a weekly rota.
