Job summary

Macfarlanes seeks an Adviser to join the Learning and Performance team in Human Resources on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role focuses on designing and delivering development programmes, supporting client groups, and shaping the firm’s learning offer.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, partner with Practice Areas and external suppliers, and help drive innovation with new ideas and AI-enabled learning. Core hours 9.30–17.30 with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Proactive with strong client service focus.
• Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
• Curiosity and motivation to learn on-the-job.
• Experience overseeing programmes and managing projects.
• Experience in training delivery.
• Experience working 1:1 on development areas is desirable.
• Experience in a busy office environment is desirable.
• Experience using systems/databases.

Responsibilities

• Oversee junior and mid-level fee-earner programmes review and development.
• Oversee junior Business Team programmes review and development.
• Project manage Learning and Performance programmes and curriculums.
• Design, review and deliver content such as workshops, webinars, e-learning and video scripts.
• Support innovation, experimenting with new ideas, technology and AI to enhance learning.
• Support one-to-one learning opportunities for individuals as appropriate.
• Act as a business partner for key Practice Areas and Business Teams functions.
• Raise the profile of the Learning and Performance team through delivery and relationships.
• Build relationships with external suppliers to ensure effective design and delivery.
• Support team planning with knowledge of skills needs and budget processes.
