Job summary

Ivy Resource Group seeks a dedicated Learning Mentor to support KS3 and KS4 students at an Alternative Provision in Stroud. The role focuses on one-to-one and small group mentoring to help learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

It requires resilience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting student relationships. You’ll work with teachers and SEN staff to implement progress plans, promote wellbeing, and support off-site activities as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 30 days' experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs or SEMH is desirable.
• Calm, compassionate and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young people.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to students.

Learning Mentor (KS3 & KS4) Alternative Provision
Location: Stroud
Pay: 90- 115 per day + Holiday Pay (12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot)
Contract: Full-Time Long-Term

We're recruiting a Learning Mentor to join a welcoming Alternative Provision in Stroud, supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who benefit from additional guidance both in and out of the classroom.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

What you'll be doing

• Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring to students.

• Supporting students to engage positively with learning and develop confidence, resilience and independence.

• Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted role model.

• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and effective coping strategies.

• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to support individual learning and behaviour plans.

• Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Supporting educational visits and off-site activities where required.

What we're looking for
