Job summary

Chilwell School in Nottinghamshire is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join our Learning Support team. Working under the Learning Support Manager, you will support pupils to engage in school life and become confident, independent learners, with a mix of in-class support, targeted interventions and keyworker sessions.

You will help with literacy and numeracy, support pupils with behaviour and wellbeing needs, assist transitions and contribute to plan-do-review interventions.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Experience working with children and young people, ideally in education.
• Understanding of SEND and barriers to learning; good communication.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide literacy and numeracy support to pupils.
• Deliver in-class support and targeted interventions.
• Act as a keyworker and monitor progress through plan-do-review.
• Support transitions and contribute to wellbeing and behavior initiatives.
