Job summary

Featherby Partnership Schools is seeking a caring Learning Mentor to provide targeted pastoral support, mentoring and guidance, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive.

You will work with pupils, families, staff and external professionals to support wellbeing, confidence, behaviour and engagement, contributing to a nurturing school environment where every child can succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children's social, emotional and wellbeing needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Calm, patient and understanding when supporting children who may face challenges.
• Motivate pupils to develop confidence and independence.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with identified pupils, providing encouragement, guidance and support.
• Deliver individual and small group mentoring sessions focused on wellbeing, confidence, behaviour and overcoming barriers to learning.
• Support pupils to develop positive attitudes towards learning and school life.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, families and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the right support.
• Promote positive mental health, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Support pupils through key transitions and changes in their educational journey.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment where every child can succeed.
