Job summary

TIA Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Learning Mentor Apprentice for a secondary school in Lozells, Birmingham. The role offers up to £200 per day and is full-time with a long-term outlook, including an apprenticeship opportunity after 20 weeks.

You will provide targeted mentoring to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and supporting positive behaviour and attendance. The position supports career progression into education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school setting.
• Experience supporting students with behavioural, emotional or social needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient mindset for managing challenging behaviour.
• Proactive approach to improving student engagement and attendance.
• Awareness of safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to students requiring additional support.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and improve outcomes.
• Support students with behavioural, emotional and social challenges.
• Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning.
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and communication skills.
• Identify barriers to learning and implement supportive strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, SENCO and safeguarding staff.
• Monitor progress and maintain records of interventions and outcomes.
• Support school safeguarding policies.
