Whitmore High School in London is seeking a Learning Mentor to join a dynamic pastoral team. You will develop mentoring plans, build 1:1 relationships with students needing support, and run small group sessions to address specific issues.

Formación

• Experience or willingness to work as a Learning Mentor and support students

Responsabilidades

• Work with the pastoral teams to identify students who would benefit most from a Learning Mentor and draw up an action plan for each child identifying the needed support
• Develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with students needing support to achieve goals in the action plan
• Offer mentoring support in small groups on specific issues
• Be aware of activities, courses and organisations that provide extra support for young people
• Liaise with middle schools and colleges to ensure identified programmes engage students at risk of dropping out
• Operate varying levels of intervention depending on referral reasons
• Relate well to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds and with teachers and professionals
• Commit to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and safeguarding principles
