The successful Learning Mentor will provide dedicated support to a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to feel safe, settled and confident within the school environment. The role will involve building a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil, using a calm and consistent approach to encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning. The successful Learning Mentor will need to be proactive, show initiative and be able to identify when a pupil may need additional support before situations escalates. You will work closely with the class teacher and the school's supportive SLT team, contributing to strategies that help the pupil develop their confidence, independence and ability to manage challenges throughout the school day. Experience working with children who have SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties or additional emotional needs would be highly advantageous.
