Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist for a Band 5-6 development post in the Specialist Learning Disability Service. The role offers progression to Band 6 with MDT collaboration to improve independence and daily living activities.

You will work within a supportive, forward-thinking OT team, gaining supervision and contributing to service development and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc/PG Dip in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Postgraduate training and ongoing professional development.
• Evidence of relevant post-graduate training.
• Completion of preceptorship for Band 5 OT.
• Membership of RCOT.
• AMPS/SI/MOHO training.
• Broad base of clinical experience.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality OT assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities.
• Manage a caseload within a MDT, developing care plans and evaluating outcomes.
• Offer specialist OT advice and support for service users with complex needs.
• Plan and implement individual and group interventions to achieve therapeutic goals.
• Monitor and modify treatments to measure progress and effectiveness.
• Maintain clinical records and develop OT service provision.
• Provide supervision and training to junior staff in line with Trust policy.
