Job summary

Bankfields Court, part of Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting a Learning Disability Registered Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team. The post involves working across units with Registered Nurses, Clinical Leads, Ward Manager, Modern Matron and allied professionals.

You will lead the shift with health care assistants, focusing on the needs of specific clients for a 12-hour period.

Qualifications

• Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD.
• Recognised practice assessor / mentor or working towards in an agreed timescale.
• Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period).
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift with support from health care assistants to meet patient needs.
• Deliver nursing care with least restrictive interventions.
• Promote quality of life and follow Positive Behaviour Support plans.
• Coordinate care and supervise junior staff within a multidisciplinary team.

Education

RNMH or RNLD registration with NMC

Recognised practice assessor / mentor
