Job summary

NLG in York is seeking a Learning Disabilities Support Worker to provide personal and clinical care under a client care plan. You will administer medications and assist with de-escalation and behaviour management as part of a dedicated support team.

We offer part-time and full-time roles with weekend shifts. You will work with families and healthcare professionals to implement tailored care plans, monitor progress and promote safeguarding and inclusive practice across all clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex care settings with learning disabilities or autism.
• Medication administration training preferred.
• Experience or training in de-escalation and behaviour management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high quality personal and clinical care per care plans.
• Support learning disabilities and associated behaviours.
• Build trusting relationships with clients and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalised care plans.
• Monitor and document client progress and report concerns to senior staff.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment for all clients.
