Job summary

Thornbury Community Services (TCS) is seeking a caring Support Worker to assist a teenage client with learning disabilities in Bath. You will provide person-centered care at home, support social interaction, and help access community activities, including driving between activities as needed.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, flexibility across days, nights, and weekends, and a commitment to promoting independence and positive experiences. Training and shadow shifts are provided.

Qualifications

• 12 months UK-based experience in a community setting.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to obtain business insurance.
• Ability to use PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) standards.

Shifts - Days 06:00-10:30 and 13:45-21:00. Nights 21:00-06:00 waking nights & sleep nights.

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to provide person‑centered support to a teenage male. In this rewarding role, you will assist with social interaction and community engagement, supporting him to access a variety of activities and interests both at home and within the local community. Responsibilities will include driving the client to and from activities, providing support with bedtime routines, and undertaking overnight support as required. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have business insurance for their vehicle, or be willing to obtain business insurance. We are seeking a flexible individual who can demonstrate availability to meet the needs of the support package and adapt to changing requirements when necessary. Full competency‑based training will be provided, along with a comprehensive induction programme that includes shadow shifts, ensuring you feel confident and fully supported in your role. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, proactive, and committed to promoting independence, confidence, and positive social experiences.
