Job summary

Artis HR is supporting a Bristol-based organisation with an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager. This is a chance to step into a newly dedicated L&D position and take the lead on how learning and development is delivered across the business.

You’ll own the full L&D cycle, working with managers and the People team to translate business needs into meaningful learning opportunities, including induction, development programmes and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and implement learning programmes from start to finish.
• Experience delivering training and induction programmes.
• Ability to identify development needs and create solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across management levels.
• Experience evaluating training effectiveness and outcomes.
• Experience managing e-learning resources and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs and develop a company-wide approach to learning and development.
• Design and deliver engaging training programmes, resources and learning materials.
• Develop and coordinate company induction, management development and mentoring programmes.
• Support managers to identify departmental learning needs and deliver effective training within their teams.
• Coordinate mandatory compliance and safeguarding training, ensuring completion targets are met and records are maintained.
• Manage the e-learning platform, reviewing content and keeping learning resources relevant and effective.
• Measure the impact of training, developing reporting and using insights to improve future programmes.
• Explore opportunities to maximise apprenticeship levy funding and support workforce development.
• Managing external training providers and the L&D budget, ensuring programmes deliver value and make effective use of resources.

There is already a commitment to developing people, but now the organisation is looking for someone to bring everything together, identify where the biggest opportunities lie and build a more joined-up approach to learning. From creating practical training tools and delivering development programmes to measuring their impact, you’ll have the freedom to shape the function and make your mark.

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys getting stuck in, building relationships and turning ideas into practical learning solutions. You’re comfortable working independently, taking the initiative and balancing the bigger picture with hands-on delivery.

You’ll ideally bring

• Experience designing, developing and implementing learning programmes from start to finish.
• A strong background in delivering training and induction programmes.
• The ability to identify development needs and create solutions that make a genuine difference.
• Confidence working with managers and stakeholders at different levels of the business.
• Experience evaluating training effectiveness and measuring outcomes.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills.
• CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development, or an equivalent qualification.
• A coaching qualification would be beneficial.
