Job Title: Learning Solutions Designer (Fixed Term – 12 months)

Contract: Fixed Term (12 months)

As the UK’s No.1 Bakery Brand, Warburtons has been proudly baking bread since 1876. Still a family-run business today, we combine our rich heritage with a passion for innovation, supplying over 18,000 retail customers nationwide from 11 bakeries and 16 depots. Our family values and pride in what we do are at the heart of our success – join us, and you too could be proud to be part of Warburtons.

The Opportunity

An exciting secondment has created a fantastic opportunity to join our high-performing national Learning & Development team on a 12-month fixed term basis. Our current Learning Solutions Designer has stepped up to lead the Learning Delivery team, and we’re now seeking someone to take on his core design role – either someone who already has experience in designing impactful learning content or someone with strong transferable skills who’s ready to build a career in this space.

If you’re passionate about learning, driven by creativity, and love the idea of helping people develop through engaging digital and blended learning experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

Why this role?

This role sits at the centre of our L&D transformation journey – you’ll be shaping and delivering learning experiences that support our Manufacturing and Distribution teams in delivering operational excellence.

Whether you’re an experienced learning designer or new to the field but excited to apply your creativity, communication skills, and digital know-how to make a real impact, we’ll support you with development, collaboration and a fantastic team environment.

You’ll join a team that’s passionate about making learning brilliant – and having fun while doing it!

Key Ingredients for Success

As a Learning Solutions Designer, you will:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across Manufacturing, Distribution, Health & Safety, and Quality to design digital and blended learning solutions.
  • Translate business needs into high-quality, creative content for face-to-face, virtual, and self-led learning.
  • Work closely with the Learning Delivery team and external providers to bring content to life and ensure learning is impactful, accessible, and embedded.
  • Apply and champion learning design principles and methodologies to enhance learner engagement and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage multiple design projects, meet deadlines, and evaluate success to inform continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring

Whether you're experienced or new to the field, we’re looking for:

  • A strong interest in learning and a desire to make a difference through innovative design.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for design, with the ability to translate ideas into engaging content.
  • A collaborative mindset – you enjoy working with others to create the best outcome.
  • Digital fluency – experience with e-learning authoring tools like Articulate 360 or similar is a bonus, but we can provide training for the right candidate.
Desirable (for experienced applicants):
  • Experience designing digital learning content for operational environments.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (ideally SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Understanding of instructional design theory and learning technologies.
  • Confidence using SCORM / AICC standards and tools like Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ready to Grow with Us?

Whether you’re an experienced learning professional or ready to pivot into an exciting new career path, this could be your chance to shape the future of learning at Warburtons. Bring your energy, creativity and passion – and we’ll provide the opportunity to thrive.

You will want to know what your bread is worth:

  • A slice of the annual profits (discretionary profit share)
  • Family time is important to us, and we know it will be to you, so you’ll have 5 weeks holiday and bank holidays with the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year
  • Products you will love along with deals and discounts for you and the family through our Extra Dough website
  • Support for your health and wellbeing, access to free physiotherapy, 24/7 access to a confidential helpline for practical advice and a comprehensive occupational health service
