Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council's Hilltop Primary School is seeking a Learning Assistant (Universal) to support pupils in a busy primary environment.

The role involves assisting with personal care where needed, maintaining hygiene stocks, supervising arrivals and departures, and helping prepare teaching materials and activities. PVG scheme membership is required before starting; the post runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, with opportunities to join the Council's learning and development programs.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a school or voluntary setting.
• PVG Scheme membership is required before starting the role.
• Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills are essential.
• Willingness to undertake NHS or Education training as required.
• Experience with children/young people with additional needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Care for children and assist with personal hygiene where required.
• Maintain stocks of hygiene sundries and manage related supplies.
• Assist with daily reception and departure of children; escort duties as needed.
• Prepare classwork and materials, set up teaching aids, and assist with reprographics.
