Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is hiring a Learning Assistant (Universal) at Dykehead Primary School to support children with additional support needs in a busy school environment. You will assist with personal care, classroom tasks and the preparation of materials, and you will manage reception duties and escorting children as required.

PVG check required before starting and training may be provided. The post offers a pro rata salary of £26,991 to £28,283 and excellent benefits including generous

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a school setting or voluntary capacity is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to undertake NHS or Education training as required.
• PVG scheme membership required prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with personal hygiene and supervise during school day.
• Support with classroom tasks and preparation of materials.
• Reception and departure of children and messenger/escort duties.
• Maintain stocks of hygiene sundries.
