Salary: Band 2 £26,234 – £28,350 including Distant Islands Allowance pro rata per annum

Hours: Part Time 29.6 hours per week (We are willing to discuss the pattern of working hours)

Contract: Fixed Term for 8 months due to Maternity Cover

Job Description

The Talent and Culture Team is seeking a Learning Assistant to join our team based at The Balfour.

As the Learning Assistant, you will play a key role in providing administrative support to our colleagues across NHS Orkney, ensuring they can find, access, and complete learning resources.

Working within the Talent and Culture Team, you will have the opportunity to practice, learn, and gain experience undertaking key duties, including but not limited to:

  1. Supporting colleagues and trainers in using, navigating, and finding learning content on our Learning Management System (TURAS Learn).
  2. Coordinating and scheduling induction training for new starters, creating itineraries to map out their training, and meeting new starters during their training weeks.
  3. Undertaking administrative duties, such as ordering and invoicing, electronic-rostering, and monitoring inboxes.
  4. Extracting reports for the organisation and trainers from our Learning Management System (TURAS Learn).
  5. Answering phones and being the first point of contact for queries, escalating where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
  • A positive attitude towards delivering excellent service.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in organising and planning, with the ability to meet deadlines.
