Job description

Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Hillhead Primary Nursery, Newdyke Avenue, Kirkintilloch, G66 2DQ

Salary: £23,942.69 - £26,023.07 per year (pro rata for part-time and term-time hours)

Contract Type: Temporary

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 27.5 hours per week

Job Summary

You will provide support to children and young people with additional support needs within our school. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, supporting learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher, and supervising pupils during breaks, PE, and trips. You should have a tolerant manner and the ability to build positive relationships with children and young people. Experience in working with children with additional needs and an interest in their development are essential. A relevant childcare qualification is desirable.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council require PVG/Disclosure checks. Successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a Scheme Update check before employment confirmation. The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary, and in some cases, in installments. If employment ends before deduction, the full amount will be deducted from the final salary.
