Job description

Job Title: Learning Assistant

The Talent and Culture Team is seeking a Learning Assistant to join our team based at The Balfour.

Salary and Working Hours

Band 2 £26,234 – £28,350 including Distant Islands Allowance pro rata per annum

Part Time 29.6 hours per week (We are willing to discuss the pattern of working hours)

Contract Details

Fixed Term for 8 months due to Maternity Cover

Role Overview

As a Learning Assistant, you will play a key role in providing administrative support to our colleagues across NHS Orkney, ensuring they can find, access, and complete learning resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting colleagues and trainers in using, navigating, and finding learning content on our Learning Management System (TURAS Learn).
  • Coordinating and scheduling induction training for new starts, creating itineraries to map out their training, and meeting new starts during their training weeks.
  • Undertaking administrative duties such as ordering, invoicing, electronic-rostering, and monitoring inboxes.
  • Extracting reports for the organization and trainers from our Learning Management System (TURAS Learn).
  • Answering phones and being the first point of contact for queries, escalating them where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
  • A positive attitude towards delivering excellent service.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and meeting deadlines.
