The Role

The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that enhance the skills and capabilities of employees. This Manager will also be closely involved with the design of talent and performance initiatives to ensure continuous learning, performance development, and employee engagement that enhance our growth and aid employee retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of People Partnering to improve the current performance development framework, moving from traditional annual reviews to continuous, feedback-driven assessments.
  • Work closely with the Head of People Partnering to co-develop a talent identification and assessment framework that supports the delivery of business strategy
  • Design and implement an agile Career Mobility framework that will enable skills-based hiring and development and drive greater retention and business performance.
  • Develop an approach to capturing a skills inventory for the business that builds the platform for skills-based mobility, hiring and development planning.
  • Accountable for the development of competencies and behaviours (in conjunction with the Director of Culture and Brand). Embed in our ways of working and performance development frameworks.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs that align with Gravita’s strategic objectives.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with leaders.
  • Design and deliver engaging learning experiences using various formats, including workshops, e-learning, and on-the-job training.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Optimise and curate Gravita’s Learning Management System (LMS) in partnership with Compliance to enable self-paced learning - maximise engagement with the platform.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within Gravita.
  • Monitor and report on training metrics to assess the impact on employee performance and business results.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in learning and development and incorporate innovative practices into training programs.
  • Work with Compliance to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements for CPD.
  • Consider the integration of learning in the flow of work, ensuring employees can access relevant training when needed.
  • Support in the design and delivery or management and leadership development programs, ensuring talent readiness at all levels.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in a managerial learning and development role.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Expertise in coaching and performance improvement.
  • Ability to develop and implement onboarding programs.
  • Experience in creating career and learning paths and linking competencies them.
  • Proficiency in needs analysis.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven learning solutions.
  • Strong consulting skills to influence senior leadership on talent development strategies.
  • Strong facilitation skills to deliver learning interventions.
