Job summary

Northumberland County Council is looking for a motivated Learning and Development Practitioner to join the Social Care Training Team in Morpeth. You will design, coordinate and deliver high-quality learning opportunities to build a skilled workforce across adults and children.

You will facilitate training for diverse audiences, contribute to statutory and professional development programmes, and help ensure staff have the knowledge and confidence to support vulnerable residents.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a learning and development environment.
  • Experience in social work or social care direct practice welcomed.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Learning and Development Practitioner

Permanent | Full time | Morpeth | Salary £31,537 - £34,434

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Social Care Training Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a skilled, confident and competent workforce supporting both adults and children across Northumberland.

As part of a dynamic and supportive team, you will play a key role in designing, coordinating and delivering high-quality learning opportunities that make a real difference to practice. From statutory and professional development programmes to innovative workforce initiatives, your work will help ensure colleagues have the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to support some of our most vulnerable residents.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning and development and understands the important role workforce development plays in delivering high-quality social care services.

You will have experience of working within a learning and development environment and be confident in facilitating learning with a variety of audiences. In addition, we welcome candidates with experience of social work and social care direct practice. You will be an excellent communicator who can build positive relationships, work collaboratively and adapt your approach to meet differing needs.
