Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Advisor to join the People & Culture team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. You will lead the Learning & Development Strategy, develop the Orwell Academy, and drive mandatory training compliance for over 700 colleagues.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will design blended learning programmes, manage LMS/HRIS modules and maximise levy funding, shaping career pathways and talent

Qualifications

• CIPD Learning & Development qualification (or extensive related work experience).
• Proven experience in Learning & Development, Training, Organisational Development or Talent Development.
• Experience delivering learning solutions through learning technologies and LMS platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management, coaching, facilitation and programme design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver blended learning programmes (digital, virtual and face-to-face).
• Lead onboarding, induction, leadership, coaching and mentoring initiatives.
• Manage and develop the Orwell Academy, LMS and HRIS L&D module.
• Ensure high mandatory training compliance.
• Partner with leaders to identify learning needs, career pathways and talent development.
• Support apprenticeship programmes and maximise levy funding.
• Use data and insight to measure learning effectiveness and drive improvement.

Learning and Development Advisor

Fixed-term Maternity Cover

Contract: 12 months

Salary: £35,466.35 per annum (FTE)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Although this position is intended to be full-time, we recognise the value of flexible working and will consider applications from candidates seeking part-time opportunities of 22.5 hours per week or more.

We're looking for an experienced Learning & Development Advisor to join our People & Culture team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead impactful learning initiatives that support over 700 colleagues to develop, perform and thrive.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you'll play a key role in delivering Orwell's Learning & Development Strategy, driving the ongoing success of the Orwell Academy, maximising Apprenticeship Levy opportunities, enhancing mandatory training compliance (including Competence and Conduct Standard compliance), and creating engaging learning experiences that support organisational and individual growth.

What you'll do:

• Design and deliver innovative blended learning programmes, including digital, virtual and face-to-face learning.
• Lead onboarding, induction, leadership, coaching and mentoring initiatives.
• Manage and develop the Orwell Academy, Learning Management System (LMS) and HRIS L&D module
• Ensure high mandatory training compliance
• Partner with leaders to identify learning needs, career pathways and talent development opportunities.
• Support apprenticeship programmes and maximise levy funding.
• Use data and insight to measure learning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:

• CIPD Learning & Development qualification (or extensive related work experience).
• Proven experience in Learning & Development, Training, Organisational Development or Talent Development.
• Experience delivering learning solutions through learning technologies and LMS platforms - experience using iTrent and Docebo is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management, coaching, facilitation and programme design skills.
• A passion for developing people and creating an inclusive learning culture.
