Job summary

A leading construction training body is seeking a Welfare Manager to support the wellbeing of residential learners. Responsibilities include leading the Welfare Team, ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards, and collaborating with other departments. Ideal candidates will have experience in welfare or safeguarding settings, strong leadership skills, and be committed to fairness and inclusion. The role offers a competitive salary of £58,633 and benefits including free onsite lunch and a generous pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a team within welfare or safeguarding services for 16+ learners, ideally in an educational or residential setting.
  • Demonstrates previous line management experience with strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Is confident handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Can work flexibly, including unsociable hours, and travel across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Welfare Team to deliver outstanding learner support.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation and standards.
  • Organize engaging personal development activities.
  • Act as a key liaison with external agencies regarding welfare concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement plans.
