Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Limited is seeking a Learner Support Lead - Study Programmes to oversee the Student Support team across Ipswich and partner sites. You will provide high-quality information, guidance and pastoral support to learners, ensuring welfare and attendance is monitored and reported.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, strong communication with learners and staff, and the ability to travel to sites in Suffolk and the East Midlands as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar education setting (post-16).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with learners.
• Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Student Support team, ensuring high-quality, confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance at every stage of learners' educational journey.
• Oversee the team with ongoing guidance, supervision, 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Work hands on as a Student Support Advisor, providing pastoral support and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey.
• Monitor learner attendance, identify trends and implement interventions to improve engagement and reduce absence.
• Oversee safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, ensuring issues are recorded and addressed per policies.
• Support learner engagement, enrolment, interviews, initial assessments, induction and ongoing CEIAG activities.
• Hold regular Student Support meetings and reviews, contributing to learner progress reporting and EHCP reviews.
• Collaborate with Head of Education, DSL and wider delivery team to ensure effective learner support and Ofsted compliance.

Essential Criteria

• Must have experience of working within a similar role within an education setting (post-16).

Duties

• Lead and manage the Student Support team, ensuring they receive high-quality, confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance at every stage of their educational journey..


• Overseeing the team, providing ongoing guidance, supervision, 1:1s and performance reviews.


• Together with leading the team, you will work hands on as a Student Support Advisor, providing pastoral support, advice and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, supporting a range of welfare, wellbeing and personal concerns.


• Monitor learner attendance, identifying trends and implementing appropriate interventions to improve engagement and reduce absence.


• Oversee safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, ensuring all issues are recorded, monitored and addressed efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures.


• Support learner engagement, enrolment, interviews, initial assessments, induction and ongoing CEIAG activities.
