Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Learner Support Lead – Study Programmes in Ipswich with travel to sites across Suffolk and the East Midlands. You will lead the Student Support team, provide pastoral guidance and ensure safeguarding compliance while supporting learner engagement and enrolment.

The role involves overseeing attendance, safeguarding concerns and CEIAG activities, working closely with senior education staff to deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance to learners throughout

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar education role (post-16).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for learner engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Student Support team with high-quality information, advice and guidance.
• Provide ongoing supervision, 1:1s and performance reviews for the team.
• Deliver pastoral support and guidance to learners across their learning journey.
• Monitor learner attendance and implement interventions to improve engagement.
• Oversee safeguarding and wellbeing concerns in line with policies and procedures.
• Support enrolment, interviews, initial assessments, induction and CEIAG activities.
• Hold Student Support meetings and contribute to progress reporting and EHCP reviews.
• Collaborate with Head of Education, DSL and delivery team to meet Ofsted requirements.

Essential Criteria:

• Must have experience of working within a similar role within an education setting (post-16).
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all learners effectively.
• A strong understanding of Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity.

Duties:

• Lead and manage the Student Support team, ensuring they receive high-quality, confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance at every stage of their educational journey..
• Overseeing the team, providing ongoing guidance, supervision, 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Together with leading the team, you will work hands on as a Student Support Advisor, providing pastoral support, advice and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, supporting a range of welfare, wellbeing and personal concerns.
• Monitor learner attendance, identifying trends and implementing appropriate interventions to improve engagement and reduce absence.
• Oversee safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, ensuring all issues are recorded, monitored and addressed efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Support learner engagement, enrolment, interviews, initial assessments, induction and ongoing CEIAG activities.
• Hold regular Student Support meetings and reviews, contributing to learner progress reporting, EHCP reviews and wider support planning.
• Work closely with the Head of Education, DSL and wider delivery team to ensure effective learner support and compliance with Ofsted requirements.
