Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Lean/Six Sigma Project Manager to lead the planning, organisation and delivery of business-critical programs from definition through to implementation. You will bring structure, pace and governance to cross-functional projects within the Wimborne site, reporting to the Operations Manager and using lean knowledge to drive meaningful improvements.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent; extensive cross-functional project management experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Proven strategic and tactical planning skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
• Lean/Six Sigma qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, organisation and implementation of programs with clear milestones and deliverables.
• Manage scope, schedule, resources, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
• Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor productivity and performance of project teams.
• Review project materials ensuring governance processes and procedures are followed.
• Identify issues, risks and develop contingency plans; coordinate timely corrective action.
• Conduct regular reviews with sponsors and clients, maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
• Prepare and present concise program-level reporting for senior management.
