Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 yrs. experience as a supervisor or operator in heavy manufacturing.
• Minimum 1+ years’ experience in Microsoft Excel and lean continuous improvement.
• Ability to read and interpret tape measures, blueprints, and BOMs.
• Continually grow lean knowledge and apply tools to drive improvements.
• Experience in leading multi-skilled people and small group initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage resources to meet production/maintenance schedules while upholding safety and quality.
• Prepare and monitor daily production floor; adjust for unscheduled demand.
• Foster effective communication between management and operators on targets and safety.
• Mentor new employees; support training and coaching across the team.
• Investigate incidents; perform root-cause analysis; report to supervisor.
• Contribute to Lean and continuous improvement initiatives with cost-saving ideas.
• Review setups for accuracy and quality; assist in machine and line setup.
