Job summary

Apex Recruitment Services is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading UK manufacturing organisation. You will drive operational excellence by applying lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement across production to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

You will collaborate with Operations, Production and Technical teams, delivering training and supporting safety initiatives while embedding a culture of continuous improvement and waste reduction throughout the business.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Improvement or Continuous Improvement roles.

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop a 5S programme to reduce waste and maintain a safe, organised and efficient workplace.
• Lead continuous improvement and process improvement activities to increase operational efficiency and support production targets.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify waste, improve processes and drive sustainable operational improvements.
• Support production teams with structured problem-solving and process optimisation.
• Ensure Risk Assessments are established, maintained and reviewed across operational processes.
• Support Health & Safety initiatives and promote a proactive approach to safety throughout the business.
• Deliver operator training and contribute to employee development in collaboration with Production and Technical teams.
• Work cross-functionally with operational teams to implement best practice and embed continuous improvement.
• Promote lean methodologies and continuous improvement principles throughout the business.
