Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer near Stevenage to drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement across a high-volume site. You will work with production, quality and engineering teams to optimise processes, reduce waste and support operational excellence initiatives.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of improvement projects, including NPI support, problem solving and equipment enhancements, with opportunities to develop within a growing manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer/Process/Production/CI role.
• Exposure to IATF16949 would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & CI principles.
• Experience in process improvement in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMED or VSM.
• Understanding structured problem solving (8D or DMAIC).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proactive in identifying and delivering improvements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Support process optimisation and waste reduction activities.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support Kaizen events and process improvement projects.
• Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
• Participate in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
• Support process validation and capability studies.
• Improve manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixtures.
• Support production, quality and engineering teams with technical challenges.
• Contribute to cost reduction and operational excellence projects.
