Job summary

Fuzzy Logic Studio Ltd, a multi-award-winning software developer in AR/VR, seeks a Technical Lead (XR) to steer Unity-based immersive projects. You will lead a Production Team of Unity developers and 3D artists, molding technical direction from concept through delivery.

Hybrid full-time role in North Shields with remote options; 8:30–16:30, Mon–Fri. Salary £48,000–£52,000; 28 days leave, pension, parking. Start date around 1 Oct 2026. Applicants invited to technical interview.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in CS, Game Dev or related field.
• 5+ years experience developing Unity apps at senior/lead level.
• Strong C# and .NET
• Proven immersive apps or 3D experiences delivery experience.
• Experience leading technical delivery and architecture decisions.
• Experience mentoring or managing developers/teams.
• Strong understanding of 3D graphics, physics, math for real-time/immersive dev.
• Experience with Azure development, Azure DevOps, Cosmos DB, Static Web Apps, JWT, Entra ID
• Experience SQL/NoSQL databases and API design.
• Understanding CI/CD, source control and modern dev practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, profiling and debugging skills.
• Write clean, maintainable production code.
• Strong communication and collaboration, can explain tech decisions to diverse audiences.
• Balance hands-on delivery with leadership and team responsibilities.
• Experience using AI-assisted dev tools is desirable.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or AI APIs into apps desirable.
• Azure certification preferred.
• UK work authorisation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction, architecture and development of Unity applications for immersive experiences.
• Provide line management and day-to-day technical leadership for Production Team.
• Lead technical aspects from concept to delivery with designers, artists and developers.
• Establish development standards and best practices across the team.
• Mentor and support team member growth.
• Design and develop performant, scalable code and systems.
• Make architectural decisions across Unity apps, APIs, databases and cloud services.
• Develop, integrate and maintain cloud-based services using Microsoft Azure.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps processes across projects.
• Identify risks early and craft pragmatic, quality-focused solutions.
• Evaluate and implement AI tools to enhance workflows and experiences.
• Collaborate with seniors to inform technical roadmap.
• Monitor Unity, XR, cloud and AI developments for opportunities.
