Job summary

Wärtsilä in Poole, England, seeks a Principal Support Engineer, Services for Water & Waste products. Qualifications

• Comprehensive electrical/mechanical engineering background with basic understanding of electrical control systems.
• Understanding of PLC control systems; Siemens, Mitsubishi software control systems a plus.
• Ability to read and follow P&ID drawings, process flow diagrams and complex electrical drawings.
• Marine engineering qualifications at HNC/HND level or NVQ3 in commissioning & installing electro-mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer-care standards; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Independently and remotely support complex electrical and mechanical commissioning, repair, and maintenance of Water & Waste products.
• Support the delivery of high-quality service reports from field engineers with mentoring and guidance.
• Assist engineering and customers with mechanical and electrical installation, planning and design.
• Provide recommendations for product, installation, and operational procedure improvements.
• Represent the company professionally with vessel staff or classification society; ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.
