Job summary

Stantec in Cardiff is seeking a Principal Water Network Modeller to lead a diverse portfolio of water network modelling projects, applying industry-standard tools to deliver high-quality solutions for clients. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across major UK water frameworks.

You will guide hydraulic modelling studies for network optimisation, leakage reduction and long-term investment planning, while supporting governance

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience delivering water network modelling projects.
• Industry-standard modelling software: InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater Pro or Synergi Water.
• Experience leading technical delivery across complex modelling programmes.
• Strong understanding of network optimisation, leakage management and pressure management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of complex water network modelling projects across major UK water frameworks.
• Developing and reviewing hydraulic models using InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater Pro, Synergi Water or equivalent.
• Delivering studies covering network optimisation, leakage reduction, pressure management, resilience and long-term investment planning.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Project Managers and clients to deliver robust, sustainable solutions.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring engineers and modellers across the team.
• Supporting project planning, governance and development of digital modelling approaches.
• Contributing to business development and strengthening client relationships in Water.
