Job summary

GHD is seeking a Design Manager for Water (AMP8) in the UK. The role focuses on leading multidisciplinary teams to shape major water and wastewater delivery, driving clarity, governance and constructability across projects.

You will influence decisions, mentor engineers and collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to deliver resilient water infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring leadership across civil, process, mechanical, electrical, digital and environmental disciplines,

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ability to coordinate interfaces across disciplines.
• Strong communication with clients and delivery partners.
• Proven track record of shaping complex civil/structural projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams on AMP8 water and wastewater projects.
• Support projects through optioneering, outline design, detailed design and construction support phases.
• Coordinate technical interfaces, design risks, assumptions, decisions, reviews and assurance activities.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, framework partners and specialist suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery, reduce complexity and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
• Support project delivery teams in achieving programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Contribute to work winning activities, client relationships and framework development.
• Support and mentor developing engineers, coordinators and technical team members.
