Job summary

Cummins Inc. in the United Kingdom seeks an Engineering Manager, Vehicle Dynamics Controls to lead an Advanced Engineering team focused on braking control software for commercial vehicle platforms.

You will drive control strategy, model-based development, and safety-critical software across the lifecycle, coordinating across electronics, mechatronics, and validation while ensuring ISO 26262 compliance and successful production launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Automotive, or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience developing braking controls software and embedded systems in commercial vehicle environments.
• Experience leading engineering teams and technical projects.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and safety-critical software development.
• Experience with ISO 26262 and languages C/C++/Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of advanced braking controls software for commercial vehicle platforms.
• Provide technical and people leadership to a team of controls, software, and systems engineers.
• Drive control strategy definition, requirements development, algorithm design, calibration, simulation, and validation.
• Oversee model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools.
• Ensure braking control systems meet performance, safety, quality, and reliability targets through MIL/SIL/HIL testing.
