Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) seeks a Lead Assessor for UK ETS verification to guide major industrial clients through emissions reporting and regulatory compliance. You will lead engagements, ensure data integrity, and influence industry best practices while elevating ERM CVS’s role as a trusted verifier.

The role requires deep expertise in UK ETS, ISO standards, and the ability to travel up to 75% within the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related discipline.
• Proven auditing/verifying of management systems in high-emission industries.
• Strong sector expertise in oil & gas, heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, metals, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Conduct UK ETS verification assessments across energy-intensive sectors.
• Lead audit and verification engagements from planning through reporting and closure.
• Evaluate emissions reporting systems, processes, and controls for accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare technical reports detailing findings, observations, and non-conformities.
• Provide clients with expert guidance on UK ETS requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align verification with regulatory frameworks.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
