Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Transport Shift Manager at our Hams Hall depot for Sainsburys. You will lead a busy operation, manage budgets, and drive safety, performance and service levels across a 37.5-hour week on a rotating days/nights pattern.

You will build an engaged team, coach and develop talent, own KPIs, and champion continuous improvement while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliant, on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be an experienced transport operations leader with CPC accreditation.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and manage budgets.
• Strong focus on safety, service quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Run a safe, high-performing shift and control costs while upholding Health & Safety standards.
• Build, coach and develop a powerhouse team with clear reviews and succession planning.
• Own the numbers: manage budgets, track KPIs, explain variances and drive action.
• Drive accountability and root-cause problem solving to improve processes and performance.
• Maintain clear communication and stakeholder management with smooth shift handovers.
