Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is looking for a proactive Transport Shift Manager at our Hams Hall depot to lead a busy shift for Sainsburys. You will steer safety, performance, and cost control while building a high‑performing team across days and nights on a 37.5‑hour week.

You'll own budgets, KPIs and variances, drive continuous improvement, and ensure smooth end‑of‑shift handovers with stakeholders. The role requires an International CPC and strong leadership in a transport operation.

Ready to lead from the front, build a powerhouse team, smash KPIs, and leave every shift better than you found it? Join us as our Transport Shift Manager!

As our Transport Shift Manager, you will be joining our large operation in our Hams Hall depot, for our customer Sainsburys.

This is a full time, permanent position with 37.5 hours per week contracted. Working any 5 days out of 7, on a rotational shift pattern of days/nights that will fall between the hours of 06:00 am to 18:00 pm and 18.00 pm to 06:00 am.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £46,125 per annum (+ night shift premium), and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Run a safe, slick, high‑performing shift — leading from the front to deliver results, control costs, and keep Health & Safety non‑negotiable
• Build, develop, and inspire a powerhouse team through coaching, training, meaningful reviews, and clear succession planning
• Own the numbers — manage budgets, track KPIs, explain variances, and turn performance data into action
• Make every shift better than the last by driving accountability, fixing root causes, embedding right‑first‑time processes, and championing continuous improvement
• Keep everyone aligned and informed with clear communication, professional stakeholder management, and sharp end‑of‑shift handovers
