Job summary

Cencora UK is seeking a Driver Team Manager to lead the Alliance Healthcare transport function from Birmingham's central logistics facility. You will oversee a mixed fleet, ensure safety, regulatory compliance and high service levels for customers across the UK.

In this role you will manage staffing, drive continuous improvement, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to optimise operations while maintaining cost controls. A strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading transport operations and remote teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, compliance.
• Experience in temperature-controlled transport and audits.
• Proven ability to improve transport KPIs and service.
• Effective leadership and team development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams).
• Willingness to work toward Transport Manager CPC.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate the transport team, ensuring engagement and accountability.
• Plan staffing and driver resources to maintain continuity and development.
• Oversee safe, compliant transport operations across LGVs and LCVs.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, licences, hours rules and audits.
• Manage temperature-controlled distribution and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain vehicle records, KPI reporting and timely documentation.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions for issues.
• Deliver high levels of customer service and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Build relationships and drive service improvements.
• Lead Health & Safety agenda and promote a safety culture.
• Identify efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Manage transport costs within budget and act as site transport lead.
