Job Description

The Vacancy

Are you a skilled and experienced electrician looking for a new challenge, or a seasoned lecturer with a wealth of industry and educational experience? At NICEIC/Certsure, we've been at the forefront of training the electrical profession for over 20 years. We are now seeking a highly skilled Lead Trainer to join our team in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrician who is passionate about sharing their expertise and supporting the continued professional development of others.

If you are curious, courageous, and committed to shaping the future of the electrical industry, we want to hear from you.

About the Role:

As a Lead Trainer at NICEIC/Certsure, you will primarily deliver training to qualified electricians, helping them refine their skills and meet industry standards across a wide range of electrical topics including low carbon technologies. You will assess candidates to ensure they meet the highest industry standards, across a variety of awarding body certificated programs (e.g., City & Guilds, EAL), as well as our tailored training courses designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of commercial customers. While teaching and assessment experience is desirable, your electrical expertise is our priority.

If you have the right technical background, we will support you in developing any additional teaching or assessing qualifications you may need.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Deliver high-quality training to qualified electricians across a range of electrical disciplines, including general installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and emerging technologies like solar PV, EV installations, and energy storage.
  • Use your industry experience to support the development of relevant, engaging, and up-to-date training content.
  • Encourage a culture of curiosity and continuous professional development, motivating electricians to stay current with industry advancements.
  • Be courageous in introducing new teaching methods and innovative approaches to training.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to supporting electricians in refining their skills and meeting high industry standards.
  • Ensure the safe maintenance and operation of equipment and training rigs used in courses, in compliance with health and safety regulations and company requirements.
  • Assess learners' progress, provide constructive feedback, and help electricians achieve their CPD goals.
What We're Looking For:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Significant experience as a qualified electrician, with expert knowledge in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding in various settings.
  • A strong understanding of current electrical regulations and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent practical skills and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous personal development and willingness to undertake further teaching and assessing qualifications if necessary.
  • Full driving licence.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Solar PV, EESS, and EV charging systems.
  • Teaching and assessment qualifications (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Assessor Award) are highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in delivering training or mentoring in an electrical context is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in assessing apprenticeships and EPA candidates.

Our benefits include 25 days holiday, employee assistance programme, discounts, flexible working, learning opportunities, life assurance, loyalty awards, workplace pension, private medical insurance, and enhanced sick pay depending on service.
