Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Principal Temporary Works Engineer / Associate to join their civil and structural engineering team.

You will lead temporary works design schemes, perform complex calculations and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on high-profile projects across the UK. The role offers leadership responsibilities, client liaison, and the opportunity to shape safe, practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with the ICE and/or IStructE.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant civil/structural engineering experience with temporary works design.
• Experience at Senior or Principal Engineer level and independent project leadership.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975, Eurocodes and UK standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design projects from concept through to completion.
• Undertake complex structural and geotechnical calculations.
• Prepare and check calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Review designs in line with standards and industry guidance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders; attend site visits.
• Identify risks and develop practical, buildable solutions.
• Contribute to proposals, fee estimates and project programmes.
