Job summary

Kier Group plc. seeks a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join the Kier Design team on complex UK projects. You will lead temporary works design, provide buildable, safe solutions, and support senior engineers from concept to delivery.

Locations include Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Plymouth with agile working and up to 1-2 days from home. The role also involves tender support, client liaison, and advancing engineering excellence across

Qualifications

• Proven experience in temporary works design and checking.
• Ability to lead design deliverables, calculations, drawings and risk assessments.
• Experience in construction engineering services and managing workloads.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works as applicable.
• Support tender and bid activities including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
• Develop client relationships and act as lead representative at meetings.
• Oversee production of design deliverables including calculations, drawings, reports and risk assessments.
