The Lead Technician in Manufacturing Engineering ensures the calibration and maintenance of GMP and development equipment, supporting teams in resolving mechanical and electrical issues to ensure efficient operations in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Perform calibration and maintenance of GMP and development equipment to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  2. Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical issues/breakdowns for GMP and development equipment/processes in a timely manner.
  3. Maintain and manage equipment history files, ensuring accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
  4. Take ownership of external contractors working on-site in GMP areas, ensuring they adhere to relevant protocols and safety standards.
  5. Provide engineering support to cross-functional teams, troubleshooting and resolving equipment/process-related issues.
  6. Contribute to the creation and development of procedures and investigation documents within Vectura’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, equipment, and overall ways of working.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of engineering solutions into manufacturing operations.
  9. Support the development and implementation of training programs for junior technicians and team members.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards in daily activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering field, with proven experience and competency in manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of GMP and other industry-specific regulations.
  • Proficient in using computer software and systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to take ownership and demonstrate leadership in managing contractors and complex technical issues.
